Grateful for the passing years, the mountains and rivers remain unharmed. Here, we are honored to present to you the WEME Beautiful Landscape 2023 Annual Works Honors Collection. These moments of beauty throughout the year embody the diligent efforts and creative wisdom of each team member, and they would not have been possible without your trust and support. Let us together witness these captivating works and experience the power of beauty and love in harmony between humans and nature.

We have collectively received 12 awards for our works, including 4 IFLA AAPE International Awards for the Asia-Pacific region, as well as 8 provincial and ministerial-level awards. The awarding organizations include the Shanghai Survey and Design Industry Association, the Shanghai Landscape Architecture Society, the Hubei Survey and Design Association, the Hubei Landscape Architecture Society, the Hainan Housing and Urban-Rural Development Department, and the Hainan Landscape Architecture Society.

International IFLA AAPE Official Awards

At the end of 2023, the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) announced the winners of the IFLA Asia Pacific LA & Luminary Awards 2023. The WEME Landscape project team once again achieved great success, receiving a total of 4 awards, including 2 Excellence Awards and 2 Honorable Mentions.

The International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) is the most influential academic organization in the field of landscape architecture, guided by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). It has member societies from 80 countries. The IFLA AAPME Awards is an international design award organized by the IFLA Asia Pacific region, consisting of three levels of awards: Outstanding Award (OA), Award of Excellence (EA), and Honourable Mention (HM).

1．Project Name: Wetland Park Design Based on Flood Resistance and Ecological Intelligence

●Award Category/Level: IFLA Excellence Award 2023

●Presented by: International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA)

This project successfully designed a wetland park based on flood resistance and ecological intelligence. The project team focused on protecting and enhancing the wetland ecosystem while considering the functionality and safety of the park during flood events. Through proper water planning, wetland vegetation arrangement, and flood control measures, the wetland park provides a space for harmonious coexistence with nature, offering citizens a place for leisure, recreation, and ecological education.

2．Project Name: Ecological Restoration, Climate Resilience, and Urban-Rural Equity of Anshan Suburban Park from a Sustainability Perspective

This project takes a sustainability perspective, focusing on the ecological restoration, climate resilience, and urban-rural equity of Anshan Suburban Park. Through ecological restoration, landscape planning, and community engagement, the project team successfully transformed Anshan Suburban Park into an ecologically friendly and sustainable urban-rural public space. The project's comprehensive considerations and sustainability strategies provide new ideas and examples for urban planning and park design.

3．Project Name: Emerald Necklace in the Lake Cluster - Wuhan Fourth Ring Green Belt Construction and Plant Community Assessment and Renewal Study

This project, set against the backdrop of a lake cluster, successfully carried out the construction of the Wuhan Fourth Ring Green Belt and conducted assessments and renewals of plant communities. Through vegetation restoration, landscape transformation, and ecological conservation, the project team turned the Fourth Ring Green Belt into a landscape corridor resembling an emerald necklace. The project emphasizes the restoration of plant diversity and the enhancement of the lake ecosystem, improving the ecological environment quality of the city while providing citizens with places for leisure and fitness.

4．Project Name: Realizing the Sustainable Cultural Landscape of Coastal Water Town: Landscape Design of Zhongtie Century Shangcheng

5. Project Name: Infrastructure Enhancement Design for Liberation Park Tower Garden, Wuhan City

The Infrastructure Enhancement Design for Liberation Park Tower Garden in Wuhan City received the First Prize for Landscape Engineering Design in the 2023 Evaluation of Survey and Design Results for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Hubei Province. This is the highest level award in the field of landscape engineering design. The project demonstrates excellent planning and design capabilities, injecting new vitality and charm into the Tower Garden enhancement project. Through optimized infrastructure layout, improved landscape quality, and enhanced visitor experience, the design has made significant contributions to the development and enhancement of Liberation Park. The project team has successfully integrated natural and cultural elements, creating a unique and enjoyable space. 11. Project Name: Fourth Ring Ecological Belt Construction (Huangpi District)
